Evidence is needed to support the claim that the airline is Wales "national airline". National airlines are airlines that are usually the sole state owned carriers of a country. The Welsh government doesn't own this airline and there is no special favouritism given to the airline in Wales over other airlines - so it's not the national airline on those criteria. The only evidence is flimsy: that it has the name "Wales" in the title, and that it is based in Wales.

The evidence

[edit]

There is one piece of evidence that shows Air Wales was Wales's national carrier and that is that it was the only carrier actually based and run in Wales.

Wales Airlines

[edit]

I thought that someone kept trying to hijack this article with information about "Wales Airlines." After investigation I find that the company's webpage does not exist (even if you correct for the obvious errors in the URL), the headquarters city (Loffex, Wales) does not appear to exist, the airport listed as their base of operations (Wales International Airport) does not exist, the fleet size is ludicrously high, and the number of destinations is ludicrously high. I can find no proof that this airline also uses the name "Air Wales" or even that it exists at all. Unless someone can provide some WP:RS I'm going to treat this as a hoax. Well spotted Meters clearly a hoax and if the user does is again he may not be around for long. MilborneOne (talk) 15:56, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the second set of eyes. I was afraid that no-one was watching this page. Meters (talk) 19:01, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
