Greetings, I would like to herein request the following changes to said article as much of current data is either poorly sourced, outdated or irrelevant. Please also consider changing the title of the article to "AirNav Systems", as AirNav Systems is the parent company and Radarbox - a subsidiary. The latter is mentioned as a sub-section in the proposed amended version of the article.

AirNav Systems is a Tampa-based global flight tracking and monitoring company founded in 2007 that provides flight tracking information, origins and destinations, flight numbers, aircraft types, positions, altitudes, headings and speeds.[1] [2] The company's real-time flight tracking and monitoring systems are used by over 25,000 airports in 170 countries.[3]
History
[edit]The company was founded by computer science engineer and airline pilot Andre Brandao in 2007.[4]
In 2020, the company announced a partnership with venture capital firm BrightCap Ventures.[5][6] The same year, AirNav Systems was chosen by ARGUS International, Inc to provide global flight and ground aircraft tracking services.[7]
Radarbox & Tracking
[edit]AirNav Systems is the parent company of Radarbox which displays flight data in real-time from all over the world. Radarbox aggregates data from eight sources:[8]
- Automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS-B): This contains real-time position information for all of the flights that are being detected by all of the AirNav RadarBox units that are currently online.
- ASDI: Aircraft Situation Display to Industry data comes from the FAA radar systems and contains information on virtually all of the flights in the USA and Canada.
- Oceanic: Oceanic position reports for major trans-oceanic routes. Atlantic and Pacific Oceans are included. Other regions are also be displayed.
- MLAT: This data results from a technique called multilateration. MLAT is a surveillance technique based on the measurement of the difference in distance to three stations at known locations by broadcast signals at known times.
- SatCom ACARS: These position reports come from ACARS messages that are relayed by satellites and captured by our satellite dishes installed in several spots around the world.
- HFDL: These position reports come from High-Frequency Data Link, a method by which air traffic controllers can communicate with pilots over a datalink system.
- ESTI: This data consists of accurately estimated flight positions based on several criteria.
- Merged: Contains data from all our available feeds organized and prioritized by relevance and accuracy.
