I've deprodded this. It may be true that there is a strong Dychtwald bias here (and that needs sorting out) but it is not true that there is nothing independent of Dychtwald. I think so. Facing the Age Wave has four contributors, none of whom is a Dychtwald. [1][2][3][4]. So of course, this is tied to the baby boom [5] but that does not make it about the baby boom. That is one factor that caused the age wave. There is another factor rather more directly responsible – increased longevity due to greater wealth, better diet, improved medical care and disease control, and safer working conditions.
