Merge discussion
[edit]Affective video games should probably be merged here to Affective gaming or vice versa. I thought about it and found arguments for both titles. Affective video games sounds like a list, but Affective video game sounds like a viable title. However the phenomenon is so new that Affective video game is probably rushing it a bit, and Affective gaming is the much more common academic term for the matter, with 508 results in Google Scholar versus 30 of Affective video games and 13 of Affective video game. Since both articles are short (this one needs a lot work and summarization), it's not that serious of a merge. Mr. Magoo (talk) 02:42, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Redirecting both to affective computing. All the sources used are not secondary to the concept. For instance, if an academic develops a theory about affective gaming, we want to use a source that discusses it secondhand. In either event, the biofeedback ordeal is the point of the affective computing article, of which video games would be a part (how games have used affective computing). It can then split out summary style. Editors can go back to the page history for sources, but I don't see what reliable sources we have to merge that aren't already covered in the affective computing article. czar 05:57, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- I agree with the merge there, as you created a small section for the matter there. That paragraph pretty neatly summarizes all we have about the subject at the moment, bar more intensive and needless utilizations and findings. Mr. Magoo (talk) 20:44, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
