Talk:Adult Kickball

An "adult kickball" page is absolutely a valid resource to have, in order to differentiate the sport of adult kickball from the game that children play. In addition, despite the biased debate that has taken place on the Kickball page, inclusion of external links to organizations that provide access to play (see the Dodgeball page) in an important resource for readers. At the moment this article is a list of external links, and I don't think it meets the criteria (WP:LINKS) for being included in this article. A good option offered on WP:LINKS is:
  • Rather than creating a long list of external links, editors should consider linking to a related category in the Open Directory Project (also known as DMOZ) which is devoted to creating relevant directories of links pertaining to various topics. (See Dmoz.) If there is no relevant category, you can request help finding or creating a category by placing /the/ Directory request /tag/ on the article's talk page.
What do you think? →James Kidd (contr/talk/email) 11:23, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, the article was/is thin. I'm openly requesting submissions from the community. Since this page deal with Adult Kickball, I've moved the Adult Kickball section from Kickball here and augmented it. This should provide a useful base for expanding the article, as well as de-cluttering the original Kickball article.
I disagree with your second point. For any person interested in Adult Kickball, having a list of verified resources for play in their community is very useful. I read the WP:LINKS] criteria and believe they comply. Perhaps once the list grows beyond the point of usefulness, moving it to a Dmoz will be prudent. At this point, I don't think that's the case. →Crabasa 21:20, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Crabasa[reply]
The linked IndieKickball.org site's league list links Toronto Kickball, so I've removed its separate link. OlYeller 07:27, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merge

[edit]

IMHO, there is absolutely no reason why the content of this article (as it is now) can't be merged in with the kickball article. The games are played with (more or less) the same rules -- the only difference is the age of the players. If this is that contentious an issue, I would recommend having outside parties comment on it in a WP:RFC. Amnewsboy 11:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
