Moxica's supposed precolumbian asian expeditions

The line "In 1481-1483 and 1485-1488 he led Spanish expeditions in India and the Middle East. The purpose of these expeditions was to establish connections with Indian merchants the Ottoman Empire in order to secure the Spanish throne access to Asian luxury goods. Although Moxica wrote of his success in various letters to the Spanish King Ferdinand II of Aragon, the expeditions did not lead to any notable results." isn't supported by any sources I can find, including Washington Irving's which is the only one in the reference section. Are there any other sources for this? If not it should be deleted.Thermocycler (talk) 13:43, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unreliable source?

Washington Irving's biography of Columbus contains known bias and major errors, e. g. regarding Columbus's navigational objectives; can it be considered a reliable source? — Texas Dervish (talk) 04:07, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
