Re-classification

[edit]

This page likely doesn't need to be here; Adenium arabicum is a synonym of Adenium obesum. http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-3030 Aegis of Athena (talk) 18:40, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Aegis of Athena[reply]

Why?

[edit]

(I did not understand why a picture of boat, whose even name is unknown, had to be in the paragraph "Hairy Leaves on both sides, Soft Pink Flower Petals, Red Stripe and Yellow in the Throat". I first thought (for the photography name is sibylline), that several users use the same name for different pictures. I saw that this picture had been restored, and asked to myself whether I made some mistake, but I see that you added too the (hiden) portrait of some young unknown people, apparently sympathetic, but both unconnected with the studied botanic species.) 88.165.212.52 (talk) 17:58, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. We used to have two nice pictures of flowers here.
  1. The first image was a duplicate at commons but has a local picture here which is totally different (local & commons). The local picture has to be renamed/deleted to make the commons picture with the same name visible.
  2. The second picture was replaced with a boat by someone at commons. The picture of the boat should be uploaded under a different name. I reverted this edit.

Thank you for this explanation. I thought it was something like this, and there is no need to search who holds anteriority right for the name of a picture : better is to rename the right picture with a more explicit name (just placing ahead "Adenium", for example) : in case of further homonymy, an adminitrator will know what to do. It would be better to rename these pictures before creating the category "Adenium arabicum" on Commons (pictures without category can be deleted). Other way, the name of this page seems to be wrong : genus name allways begins with a capital letter, the species one never does. 88.165.212.52 (talk) 07:15, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Growth Form

[edit]

in my cultivation, I found that some Adenium arabicum grow with only one trunk, not a few trunks. So, squat and fat in growth is not a common trait, but depending on how many stems on top of the caudex, if only grow with one stem/trunk, then the form would not a widen caudex. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karendet (talkcontribs) 11:40, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
