Assassination plot
[edit]Somebody should write something about how Iran allegedly attempted to whack his ass! #breakingnews — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.209.137.79 (talk) 18:24, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Adel Al-Jubeir, Fidel Castro, and Stansfield Turner are all descendants of Vlas Chubar, a Commissar from the Soviet Socialist Republic. Stansfiled Turner's(Admiral in the US Navy and Director of the CIA) relation to Fidel Castro(Communist Dictator during Cuban Missle Crisis) is the reason Castro's assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy was successful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.71.163.3 (talk) 16:39, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Evidence that Iran was behind a plot to kill the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Washington is ‘overwhelming’, a former chief of Saudi intelligence services said on Wednesday. [1]

Diplomat in the US
[edit]The long section about him as a diplomat, even after trimming, is about US-Saudi relations and has nothing to do with the subject of this biography. The whole section seems to be praising Saudi and its relations with the US, but we shouldnt be doing either of those things unless it is in the context of Jubeir and sourced and neutral, as is the material about Jubeir as Foreign Minister here. Besides, he can reasonably be imputed to be at least partly responsible for the foreign policies; but he isnt responsible for all the stuff mentioned in the diplomatic section, and if he were we would have the sources to prove it, as we do in the foreign section, here he is directly attributed to the policies. I propose to delete all irrelevant material which may mean the whole diplomatic section goes. If anyone objects, please explain why you object here. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 23:54, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Article format and perimeters
[edit]No doubt Adel is a nice person who has done a lot of diplomatic work; however, this article reads like a personal resume for a job application (Oct 2018). Too many peripheral details are included about anything that happened in the world remotely related to any country that made a telephone call to or had anything to do with Saudi Arabia at the time he was employed in a position. So the article does not really tell you about him, his skills or abilities as much as it is a narrative about world events and the history of his work, ie., a resume. It's obvious he was sacked as U.S. Ambassador so the King could have one of his sons in the job (who had absolutely no experience in diplomacy or government administration). Adel offers no explanation for the Kingdom's beheadings, disappearances, and foreign abductions/kipnapings, even of members of the Royal Family or former employees. So that can be considered a taint on accomplishing anything of value to human beings on this planet. 12.71.9.164 (talk) 02:32, 19 October 2018 (UTC)abdullah
..now both redirect to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Saudi Arabia): this does not make sense. Anyone know how to resolve this? Huldra (talk) 23:56, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Huldra it doesn't make any sense because...?--SharabSalam (talk) 00:11, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- According to this source [2] Adel Al-Jubeir is not the minister of foreign affairs but the minister of state for foreign affairs. I don't know the differences between these two but there is no alternative redirect.--SharabSalam (talk) 00:25, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- Actually the whole thing goes under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Saudi Arabia) whether it is minister of foreign affairs or minister of state for foreign affairs.--SharabSalam (talk) 00:30, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- User:SharabSalam, quite, presently the article says he was "Minister of Foreign Affairs" until December 2018, when he became "Minister of State for Foreign Affairs". And both redirect to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Saudi Arabia) . What is the difference between the two? And who is the boss? (I assume it is the "Minister of Foreign Affairs", ie Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf). I have just never heard of a position of "Minister of State for Foreign Affairs" (it was established for his predecessor Nizar Madani). You normally don't have 2 people at the top, sharing the responsibility at a foreign office, so I assume that is not the case here, Huldra (talk) 20:17, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't know the difference but both jobs can be linked to the article of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Saudi Arabia). Its says that the executive agency are Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, is the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Adel al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. So I guess all of these jobs can be linked to one article which is the article of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.--SharabSalam (talk) 00:30, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, but that still doesn't give us the pecking order in the ministry, something I find rather unsatisfactory, Huldra (talk) 23:42, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
