The reference to Domenico Fontana as the architect of this fountain is obiously wrong. Just underneath the great inscription at the top, with a pair of binoculars, one can read the name IOANNES FONTANA ARCITECTVS, and further on you may (barely) catch the words LUCA FANENSIS. The name IOANNES obviously refers not to Domenico, but rather to his brother Giovanni. The Acqua Felice page on the Italian Wikipedia has Giovanni as the architect. LUCA FANENSIS refers to Luca Orfei from Fana, who is the artist behind the great inscription. The inscription, by the way, is one of many around Rome by Luca Orfei which represent a new style of lettering. Other examples are the Laterano, the Quirinale and the Vatican obelisks.

Is that better now? --Wetman 16:07, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Volume

[edit]

One of the most meaningful specifications of any aqueduct is the volume of water delivered (which could be measured in units of liters per second, or liters per day). How much did the Acqua Felice deliver (originally and/or in modern times)? Does it contribute in any meaningful way to the water supply of modern Rome? 174.24.3.198 (talk) 18:25, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
