Language Update
[edit]I noticed that early on in the article the terms "blacks" and "whites" are used, which are a bit racially charged for Wikipedia. Could they be possibly changed to something more neutral, like "black people" and "white people?"

Misleading section title
[edit]The wiki section titled "sudden emergence" makes no sense following an explanation in the wiki that abolitionism had already been around for decades. The title gives an incorrect impression. Something like new emergence or re-emergence would be more encyclopedic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.192.208.206 (talk) 13:06, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
