Some suggestions for improvement

[edit]

Hi, SULNOUR, I converted citations in this article and gave it a copy edit once-over. I'll re-read it later today to screen for non-neutral wording in order to remove the COI tag.

There are two challenges in the sourcing: first, most of the sources are print-only, so it takes extra effort for other editors to be able to verify the content and check for copyright violations. This issue is supposed to be addressed by the WP tenet, Assume good faith, but there is a way to add source quotes within the citations: just add the parameter, |quote= . This courtesy eases the burden of other editors who want to verify content. For example, see the list of references for Seattle-Tacoma Box Company (an an article I created that relied heavily on several print sources).

Second, many of your sources are in Arabic, so not accessible for most English-speaking editors. It will take some extra effort on your part, but you could use the same quote parameter in the citation templates to provide translations of copy from your sources. I think that would help other editors to review and verify the content of this biography.

Are you using the visual editor or the source editor? I strongly recommend the visual editor for formatting citations with the quote parameters. Let me know how that process goes.

Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 14:22, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Minor" edit

[edit]

Hi, SULNOUR, I noticed you have been marking many of your edits as "minor" in edit summaries. Most edits that can affect meaning are not minor — see What to mark as minor changes, for guidance.

Thanks for pointing this out to me. I might've done this a couple of time but I'll be more careful in the future. This article was approved and I did some changes in the refrencing before it was approved. I found a coupe of refrences on Google Books so I went ahead and added the url to them as you did with one before. I also found an English refrence for the "Mosul Question" section and I replaced the Arabic one since they discussed about the same topic. I saw what you did when adding "quote=" and I will work on this next SULNOUR (talk) 13:44, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
