[edit]As a courtesy to other to other contributors could we please discuss controversial edits on the talk page, not in the edit summaries?
The edit summary from this edit was "no good reason for inclusion - quote more relevant in the section about the children's dead-section rather small-link to the phone call article for more information given at the bottom of the section"
Up until 2008 the captives had been allowed very few phone calls -- dozens in total for the whole camp. The identity of the men allowed a call was, in most cases, not made public. Omar Khadr was one of the exceptions -- a captive allowed a call home prior to 2008.
In 2008 the policy was modified. All "compliant" captives were to be given an annual phone call. We don't know when most of these captive were allowed their first call home. We don't know that the policy was actually carried out.
But we do know when Abdul Al Salam Al Hilal was allowed his call.
The first call home is a very significant event in each of the captives' stays. I don't think that there is any possible question that when we have a relevant image to accompany the section about his phone call that we should use that image. Geo Swan (talk) 04:33, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- I do not discuss my edits in the edit summaries an i have never done so and i am welcome to reply to your counter arguments to the from me given explanation and arguments in the edit summary here on the talk page. Of course, i have always done so. IQinn (talk) 12:38, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- The section is about the children's dead. And the quote is highly related to this section. There is also a more that sufficient big link to the Guantanamo captives' phone calls article with more information and photo on that topic. IQinn (talk) 12:38, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
