I'm not sure that Abdullah should redirect to Abd-Allah. Islam related articles guidelines says that where possible, anglicised names should be used- I think abdullah is more common than Abd-allah. Dev920 17:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Im trying to make sense of all the arabic transliterations, considering the incredible amount of different variations, i try to have them all have a name that makes the casual enlish reader easly understand what the name stands for. Abdullah is a bit more ambiguose than Abd-Allah for the enlish eye, and i made a judgment call. Like the names "AbdulMutalib" makes no sense to a english reader, but "Abd-al-Mutalib" makes more sense... what do you respond? Dont you agree that clarity weights higher than casual use in this cases? And we do have redirects, do nobody is risking to not find the names... Im sure the people that assumed the "more common" version to be used did not view what troubles could be found when trying to deal with naems like "abduluzzah" or "abdurrahman" instead of "Abd-al-Uzzah" and "Abd-al-Rahman". --Striver 17:29, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just think "bin abdazzubair" vs "Ibn Abd-al-Zubair". --Striver 17:30, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, ok. I'd rather abdullah, but you make a good point. Dev920 17:35, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

remove biography Muhammad and Khadija

[edit]

I just read 3 articles, about the 3 sons of Muhammad. This is the only one that gives a whole explanation of Muhammad's life, profession and marriage, which isn't the point of this article. It also reads like a copy of other wikipedia articles. I suggest removing that part. 87.67.206.81 (talk) 08:47, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
