'Parallel storylines'

[edit]

This article claims the book has two 'parallel storylines'. To me, this suggests that the author switches back and forth between the two storylines, which is clearly not the case with this novel. Rather, the book is split in two parts (called 'Book I' and Book II), with a 40-year gap of the action in-between. I am not sure how to phrase this correctly, though; any suggestions would be welcome. (If, in contrary, other users agree with the 'parallel storylines' argument, I'll just assume I was wrong, and the article can remain as it is.)
