Iraq War
[edit]I'm going to re-add in the Cultural References section how this episode is about the Iraq War. I'll add a Citation Needed tag to avoid further deletion, but it's pretty obvious that that's what this episode is about. Fitzburgh (talk) 20:13, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Why not wait until the writer's intentions are confirmed? Lots42 (talk) 12:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- The recent edits for the 'Iraq' section makes no sense to me. Lots42 (talk) 03:40, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- What is it that you don't understand? Would a separate section on Iraq War/War on Terror references make the page easier to understand? Right now it seems like a wall-of-text in the CR section.Fitzburgh (talk) 19:53, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- References would clarify a lot. Did the writers of the episode -intend- to reference the Iraq war? Did they say this in say, the dvd commentary? Lots42 (talk) 22:34, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, this episode was a deliberate analogy. I don't have any citations for it, but it's pretty obvious. McGruder is against the Iraq War/War on Terrorism and the sheer amount of parallels cannot be accidental or people reading in too deeply into the episode. I honestly can't understand how someone couldn't see the parallels to the Iraq War, unless they don't have any political background or awarness as to what's going on.Fitzburgh (talk) 18:33, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Obviousness is not as important as citations. Lots42 (talk) 04:58, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
