The signature I first saw and always used is a bit different to the ones in the two "official" sites. Any objections to add it to Wikipedia? The sig goes like this:

    /"\
\ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign - Say NO to HTML in email and news
     X
    / \

Authors do not completely understand the rôle of ASCII

[edit]

As follows from the website, it was not a campaign for ASCII-only email. The word "ASCII" refers to ASCII art as an alternative to HTML. RFC 1855 is irrelevant – an HTML can perfectly be an ASCII only and vice versa, a plain text may contain controls and is not necessarily 8-bit clean. These are different concerns; authors apparently are just ignorant about software problems of late 1990s. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 19:13, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

asciiribbon.org no longer active

[edit]

As of 1 July 2013, asciiribbon.org has abandoned this effort.

asciiribbon.org is now a spam site

I've replaced the link in the references to archive.org. --David G (talk) 14:58, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No "Stub"

[edit]

I believe the article's length is just adequate for the topic. The large amount of "stub" signs in Wikipedia in an annoyance, and even more so, as they take a very prominent position in a big box on top (and, it seems, are rarely removed). Too large articles do not add to quality of a dictionary. --Meerwind7 (talk) 10:21, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on ASCII Ribbon Campaign. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).
