Interesting that my original article I wrote on the AN/SPS 48e has now become the writeup on the whole system. All of my original changes and write-ups are now gone along with the talk page where some of us were discussing the article I wrote. It is fine I just wish that all of that initial work was not lost in the merging. Honestly I cannot remember what I did and did not write. I use the history to see what has changed over the years and now that is all gone? If not please direct me to where it has gone. Thanks Golgofrinchian (talk) 03:52, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's here - if you go to AN/SPS-48E it will redirect to here but there is a link back to the redirecting page under the title. 86.23.40.224 (talk) 22:14, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

General improvements to article

[edit]

The "Uses" section could be improved, by applying grammar to the complex group of ~26 words, "With the air targets exact 3D location it is available for interception/removal via either the ship's weapon system or through linked weapons platforms located elsewhere". (And, exact location?). Also, the uses could be simplified by simply deleting the 2nd/3rd sentences, and stating that the SPS-48 is not used on the Aegis cruiser and destroyer platforms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.183.224.2 (talk) 19:19, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

AN/SPN-48B Radar

[edit]

This system is mentioned repeatedly in the context of the DXGN/CGN-38 class in congressional testimony.

And this NRL report references a document on page 394 titled "AN/SPS-48B Operational Program Baseline Tests," NRL Test and Evaluation Report 109, Feb 1970.

I cannot find this document anywhere, but it's a starting point for further digging if anybody else wants to pile onto this project. AN.FSQ-7 (talk) 05:00, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
