Merger
[edit]I have no idea how to proceed with merging AliEn (ALICE Environment) into this article. Please advise and/or assist. Interlaker (talk) 23:52, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- I am uncomfortable merging a stubby article with no sources into a well developed one, especially when there is no clear section to put the information. So I have redirected AliEn (ALICE Environment) to this article and will leave this link to the pre-redirected version. If any regulars at this article find any useful information feel free to incorporate it. Note this merge came about through Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AliEn (ALICE Environment). Don't neutrons have energy
[edit]'First lead-lead collisions' says "Each lead nucleus contains 82 protons, and the LHC accelerates each proton to an energy of 3.5 TeV, thus resulting in an energy of 287 TeV per beam, or a total collision energy of 574 TeV." (82x3.5=287) which seems to ignore the energy of the 120+ neutrons (eg lead-208 has 126 neutrons). Shouldn't the total collision energy include the neutrons KE too ? - Rod57 (talk) 20:14, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Not in line with the other LHC experiments articles

DAQ section seems outdated
[edit]The section in Data Acquisition only refers to DAQ pre Long Shutdown 2, which is now over. Since LS 2 came with some significant changes to the DAQ side, including the new O² framwork, an update on the description seems necessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derfopps (talk • contribs) 10:15, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
