All #1 singles?
[edit]All of a1's singles were #1? Don't think so. I found out "Like A Rose" only reached #6. - Supermiggelo 07:05, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:A1 05.jpg
[edit]I found Image:A1 05.jpg and noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Someone will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If it was obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If there are other files on this page, consider checking that they have specified their source and are tagged properly, too. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:49, 25 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use rationale for Image:A1 05.jpg
[edit]Image:A1 05.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 04:49, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

a1 albums
[edit]Mrd84 11:18, 11 October 2007 (UTC)There seems a problem with the link to the info for Make It Good. It goes to a Beach Boy's Album instead of the a1 Album. I think that this should be changed.
Biography
[edit]The a1 biography is actually insufficient and it doesn't actually explain a lot about theformation of the band. How the band formed as well is incorrect. They were not all joined up by that one persin. They were actually managed by the lead singer of D:Ream, Peter Cunnah, for the first single and the launch of their first album. The Steps manager came into the picture later on. The band were not originally a four piece either. It started off with just Mark. He was spotted palying piano on a cruise ship when approached by the manager. He was told the idea for a1 and agreed. He had known Ben in a boy band previously (name unknown), so asked if he could have him in the band. The manager agreed. To find Christian, the manager scouted the music colleges to find a perfect member. He was studying at the Paul McCartney School of Music in Liverpool(I think that's what it is called) at the time. (His father is a well-known singer in Norway and Christian had had some fame previously because of it.)He agreed and signed up. Paul was found through open auditions in London. This information can be found one the a1 video/dvd made just before the release Caught in the Middle. (I can't remember the name, but do own a copy.)I would update the main page, but I need someone else to confirm this information. One of a1's most popular songs, Living The Dream, was never released as a single. It was actually only ever featured on a free CD given away by Smash Hits in the summer of 1999. (Not actually featured on the WIki page, but a piece of random a1 trivia.) I was a big fan, and I tried to learn as much information as possible. Paul left the band because he had lost his sister and his cousin to cancer within the space of a couple of months and felt he couldn't continue with the band because of that. The band members were all close friends and agreed at the beginning that if one of them left, they would stop the band, so they did. Mrd84 11:48, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Were/was
[edit]When I changed “were” to “was” in the first sentence, it was reverted by Escape Orbit referring to correct UK English usage. However, the way I understand it, one can use “were” when the word can be replaced with “they”, and “was” when the word can be replaced with “it”. In other words, in the introducing sentence, I believe it should be “a1 was a British band”, as we’re not referring to the members of the band (they), but to the band itself (it). An example with “were” is “a1 were enraged that their sales were dropping” or something like it. Does this make sense? Jon Harald Søby (talk) 19:30, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Your approach is logical, but incorrect. A lot of English grammar is like that, so don't worry if appears to be confusing. See the explanation here about collective nouns, and how usage differs between US and UK English. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:18, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Even after reading Escape_Orbit's explanation I do not believe he is correct. Band is a collective noun and should be referred to as "was". Nothing in the grammar section we are referred to changes this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.157.100.53 (talk) 19:31, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:Take on Me a1.jpg
[edit]The image File:Take on Me a1.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Paul Marazzi
[edit]A1 |
---|
Paul Marazzi (born Paul Thomas Leo Marazzi,
24 January 1975Start
[edit]in a1 is a British boy band whose first single, "Be the First to Believe", was released in 1999. Its members were Britons Mark Read, Paul Marazzi, Ben Adams and Norwegian Christian Ingebrigtsen. A1 also won a BRIT Award for "British Breakthrough Act" in 2001. They were formed by band manager Tim Byrne, who also formed Steps.
In 2001 the band toured Asia, where they were well-received. The music video for their single "No More" was filmed in Singapore[citation needed]. During the Indonesian leg of their tour in the Taman Anggrek Mall, four teenage girls were killed in a stampede. [1]
Their third album, Make It Good, featured a sound closer to traditional rock music, but was to be their last studio project.
On 8 October 2002, Paul Marazzi left the group citing personal reasons.
Now
[edit]In 2005, Paul Marazzi started a band called Snagsby.
Eurovision Song Contest 2010
[edit]It was stated in the article they took 2nd place but in the Wikipedia article on Eurovision Song Contest 2010, there was no mention of them. And Norway was nowhere near 2nd place even if they host the event. Please check facts. Thanks. -- PinoyFan —Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.201.192.114 (talk) 22:04, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
- They weren't in the ESC 2010, I presume it means they were in the Norweigian national finals for Eurovision 2010. It was there they came 2nd.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 06:12, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
