Eugenics and Segregation

[edit]

Looking through sources it does seem that Gregor's connection to these topics is established, but reading the talk page there seems some debate as the extent of his involvement specifically after the 1960s. Removing was premature on my part although I am on the fence about putting it in the lede and infobox. What do others think? 3Kingdoms (talk) 14:26, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IMO it's not just a self-evidently notable part of his career (founding member of a notable international policy organization alongside a decade+ of lobbying and academic work), but it's also crucial context for his later heterodox work on fascism. The fact that his earlier positions became untenable for a respectable academic to hold post-1967 doesn't negate fact that he held them -- if you haven't done so, I'd highly recommend reading his "rebuttal" to Newby's characterization that Humanist Poet cited above to get an idea to what extent his views had actually changed. 2600:1700:E4C0:40C0:95F0:1718:2090:F8D7 (talk) 15:49, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New list of selected articles

[edit]

A list of 14 of Gregor's articles was recently added, but it is unclear what criteria were used to select them. Do independent RS note them? If not, then WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE and WP:NOTDIRECTORY apply and they should be removed. Llll5032 (talk) 23:43, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was treating them like the book section. These were simply the ones I’ve gone through on JSTOR and added. There are others, but I have not gotten to them. 3Kingdoms (talk) 15:04, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for responding. He appears to have hundreds of articles listed on JSTOR, so I am removing this new section because a full list would be too long, a partial list without secondary sources has unclear selection criteria, and policies discourage such listings without contextual information. Per WP:NOTDIRECTORY #1, his important articles can be described if editors find context for them from independent reliable sources. Llll5032 (talk) 04:10, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. My bad on the articles I was treating it like the bibliography on some pages, but with articles it would definitely cause an overload! Thanks for the clarification. 3Kingdoms (talk) 12:39, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
