Timberline?

[edit]

Can anyone confirm Doyle as architect for Timberline Lodge? Timberline was built about 10 years after his death and the signs in the building say nothing about him. Also I'm having trouble finding anything about Doyle and Timberline Lodge online. Pdxstreetcar 02:09, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like he was hired to design a lodge after his successful Multnomah Falls Lodge, but his plans were never executed. [1] Many sources still credit him for the current design (I hope they didn't copy that from here). It was designed by four Forest Service architects. [2] I'll rewrite it. Hazelwood Creamery?

[edit]

An anon added this building to the list but I can't find any evidence it's a Doyle. This site has some great info on the Creamery, but nothing on the architecture, though the images have a Doyle look about them. Is this building still standing? Does it go by a different name?  Done I added a ref a while back. It's known today as the Leftbank Project. Katr67 (talk) 17:00, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Book

[edit]

I just saw the new book at Powell's last night. I have absolutely no connection in anyway with this book, author or publisher other than an interest in A.E. Doyle and a wish that someone would write a book about Doyle's work. I put it first on the list because the book is the most relevant to the topic. All the other books listed only have minor mentions of A.E. Doyle. I really dont mind where the placement is but think listing the book is important to this post since it is the first publication on A.E. Doyle and may lead to a renewed appreciation and interest in his work. Pdxstreetcar (talk) 02:04, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here is more info on the book:
