Picture for this article

[edit]

I've found in the ashtray website a nice picture of the casino, however I'm waiting for a reply from the contacts of that website to try and get in touch of the owner of the picture and try to get that copied up to Wikimedia Commons. More details coming soon.Zul32 (talk) 21:40, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion discussion

[edit]

Although this article (yes I agree) that is quite lacking in content and resources, however this is a defunct casino in Nevada, which several casinos are on this reference here: Category:Defunct casinos in Nevada. I was hoping that additional people could help to contribute to this article (and other articles that I'm planning to write in the future about other defunct casinos in the West Wendover Nevada area. You'll see in the article there is the navigation bar in the lower section - where the current and defunct casinos are listed for this city. The A-1 Club is the first article that I've started to create. I could use some help from the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Nevada and the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Gambling contributors to help make these article more WP:N.Zul32 (talk) 19:47, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Another update on this article: I probably don't have enough time to set aside and put forth the effort to make this more noteable/noteworthy. This is part of West Wendover Nevada's history, and I've would like to see it stay, if more contributors would be willing to help out? I know about WP:Canvas so I won't start I was just interested in focusing working on articles about casinos in West Wendover, NV. If others can contribute to the article, later I wish to propose that it be deleted in six months rather than just one week? Zul32 (talk) 20:57, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, the prod tag was removed. The problem with these older casinos is the lack of online sources. Someone really needs to get a hold of some books or newspaper articles on this. The fact that the place closed 42 years ago will make it difficult to show that it is notable by using online sources. Having said that, the lack of online sources is not a reason to delete. Its interaction with the air base shows notability unless this type of activity was common at other air bases of the time. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:10, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I removed the prod tag as per the instructions here Objecting to the deletion that's what it said to do when you want to challenge the deletion of the article.Zul32 (talk) 16:22, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
