Well, it's still non-notable as a number -- that's one notable property as a number (sphenic, and being in a not-particularly-notable number sequence are not notable), no notable properties in Astronomy, and one interesting property in islam, which probably should be a separate article pointed to by the 700 article. (In fact, it is as Basmala#Numerology.) But the article is still going to stay, anyway, so I won't bother with it, other than fixing the mathematical category. Arthur Rubin

I have removed the statement which says that 786 is also the same no. of steps in the tallest church in the world. The correct number of steps is 768. - Anon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.5.53.139 (talk) 22:58, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where clean up is needed

[edit]

The religion section looks like the people editing it have not availed themselves to Wikipedia's formatting capabilities, or have done so in a way that doesn't look all that neat. But since I know very little about Islam, I don't want to inadvertently make make a major faux pas. Also, the section about the area code still doesn't have a citation for the bit about 786 spelling SUN. I think it's just a coincidence. PrimeFan 21:23, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a better (or at least more coherent) discussion about the Islamic significance of 786 in the relevant section of article Basmala (which was originally moved to that article from here). AnonMoos 00:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Area code 786 for SUN

[edit]

I don't dispute that 786 spells "SUN" on the standard telephone keypad. What I am disputing is that that's why the telephone company chose the number. Surely the telephone company would have included this tidbit in their press release when the area code was inaugurated? Anton Mravcek 22:14, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this just random observatins, or is there some significance? All the best: Rich Farmbrough02:36, 7 June 2014 (UTC).

Why I think GOD = 786 = Atom?

[edit]

Please read this https://www.quora.com/What-is-786/answer/Vasanth-Kumar-Nagulakonda thoroughly and help me prove GOD is One. This will unite all religions with the evidence provided at Quora. @‪Certes‬ kindly take this forward. I don't want to waste anyone's time so seeking your swift approval after being convinced that my research is the truth derived from Sanatana Dharma, the Eternal Faith, which said GOD is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient.

Hoping Wikipedia will help the Cyber Community know the Truth.

Kindly approve my research after thorough investigation because it is truth that makes the Sun rise in the East everyday. Let the truth not hidden from our Wikipedia's readers. Vasanthkn (talk) 14:06, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Let me elaborate more on 786
786 = (7+0)(7+1)(7-1) = (Neutron with zero charge)(Electron with negative charge, note + is opposite in Urdu)(Proton with positive charge, note - is opposite in Urdu) = (Destructor)(Operator)(Generator) = DOG = GOD (Read it in reverse as per Urdu)! Vasanthkn (talk) 14:34, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am awaiting your response! Thank you! Have a nice day!! Vasanthkn (talk) 01:23, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please ask me if you have any questions for clarifications from my side. This will help us both. Vasanthkn (talk) 06:24, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've already responded: I do not believe that edits such as this improve the page. As we clearly disagree here, I'll ask the team at WikiProject Numbers for a third opinion. Certes (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do not include, obviously. We can only include numerological crankery when it is notable as numerological crankery, as recognized by published sources independent of the cranks who promote it. We don't have those in this case. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:47, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there is a need for clarification. It is already pretty clear that this is complete nonsense, and a waste of everybody's time. Dhrm77 (talk) 12:16, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
