Where did they start constructing her?

[edit]

"Construction on project no. 10521 started on October 4, 1989 at the Baltic Works in Saint Petersburg, USSR." This sounds very strange, as there was no St. Petersburg in 1989, nor one in the USSR. I suggest changing to the then extant name Leningrad (of course linking today's city). It is common in both encyclopaedic and historic works to use the then-official names of places. Szabi (talk) 18:09, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, Leningrad was renamed on September 6, 1991, so you're right. But the major construction works were in St. Petersburg. It's just a translation (from russian article) mistake made by me, thanx. --Yuriy Lapitskiy ~ 21:24, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This makes no sense

[edit]

One sentence reads: "A new ecological compartment was created equipped with high-end devices of collection and utilization of vital functions material" - this makes no sense. Is it to do with the collection and treatment of sewage (considered a problem in Antarctica due to the sensitive nature of the environment)? If so, it's an English-language page and needs to be corrected accordingly. --124.188.35.73 (talk) 06:21, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Alan Erskine[reply]

No, it's not about Antarctica, because she will not sail there. Her operating range is on the north of Russia (Sevmorput). --Yuriy Lapitskiy ~ 21:40, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

article name

[edit]

Shouldn't the name of the article be "NS 50 Let Pobedy" instead of a translation? --MoRsE (talk) 14:05, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
