Monolayer Bashing

[edit]

The first paragraph of the overview section seems to largely be dedicated to outlining the limitations of monolayer plating, but has little to do with magnetically levitated cell cultures. So I have two issues with it.

1) Is this really relevant for an overview, the first paragraph no less?

2) I feel that while this can be used to make a case for why magnetic culturing is useful, it isn't used fully to do that.

3) The tone itself feels almost condescending towards monolayer plates, I think it could be rewritten

I think a section on the differences or pros and cons between monolayer cultures and levitated cultures could be beneficial, and something like this paragraph could fit there. However, as it currently stands, I feel that this section should not be included or at least needs to be rewritten. Cosmic Nudibranch (talk) 22:52, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Cosmic Nudibranch's observations but still tried to fix the first sentence to increase the clarity. EmergentRandomness (talk) 16:47, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the paragraph which was highlighting the controversies surrounding monolayer culture - this is a topic for a different article perhaps. I also edited for NPOV but the whole page just feels like a transcribed journal article or grant proposal, needs further editing. Chromaphile (talk) 10:54, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Any particularly problematic sections? I would like to know which to prioritize as I edit the article. HC226 (talk) 22:06, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
