Page Needs Rewrite
[edit]This page needs a rewrite by someone who knows the field. There are several nonsense statements, statements of opinion and pieces of product marketing, without covering major tech in this area. There seems to be a confusion between 3D sound on headphones and 3D sound using other techniques. I'd suggest removing this page and merging anything useful from here into the Surround Sound, Ambiophonics or HRTF pages which seems to handle the subjects better.
3D audio presentations
[edit]I 3-D audio effects. I thought at least one example of the effect would be appropriate, but as the article is very technical in its presentation it may be out of place. Similarly, I don't know if a "discography" of 3-D audio is warranted here. Opinions? --McDoobAU93 17:43, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Headphones...
[edit]The only problem is that the 3D sound works, in fact, with only headphones. Wfplb (talk) 20:06, 28 February 2012 (UTC) That's not true, crosstalk cancellation can achieve the process of having binaural audio on stereo speakers, and VBAP and Ambisonic panning are other examples of 3D audio without headphones --Moala (talk) 15:14, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
And what is dolby surround?
[edit]what's the difference with what they always promote when we go to the cinema's? THX Dolby Surround I believe? --SvenAERTS (talk) 08:26, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
