Lack of references
[edit]The information of the article (written by Donnie Love) is obviously retrieved by this site. Other info from this site concerning 2nd millennium BC in music is this:
- 1500 BC - "Hittites use guitar, lyre, trumpet, tamborine to make music"
- 1500 BC - "Harps used to accompany dances in Egypt"
- 1000 BC - "Professional musicians provide background for religous ceremonies in Israel"
(if the latter claim is true, then this "Israeli" tradition possibly had begun during the 2nd millennium BC)
I think that this site's "history of music" is useful as a general reference, but when I tried to fact-check its content, I found many errata and misspellings, and of course total lack of any references; so I suggest the editors of the articles concerning the Years in music to double-check what they find there. I will try, neverheless, to find sources that verify the claims in the main page of the article. Omnipedian (talk) 11:33, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
