Unit name
[edit]I believe this may be a case where the most recent name of a military unit is not the most appropriate name for the unit. The 2d Airlift Squadron held the designation 2d Troop Carrier Squadron for ten years, served in combat in World War II and earned a Distinguished Unit Citation under that designation. This unit served as the 2d Troop Carrier Squadron for nine months- in the reserves until reserve units activated for Korea were allotted back to the reserves. Currently 2d Troop Carrier Squadron (World War II) redirects to the airlift squadron article.
- Proposed solution:
- Move this page to 2d Reconnaissance Squadron (Photographic)
- Make 2d Troop Carrier Squadron a redirect to 2d Airlift Squadron
- Edit the hatnotes.
- Alternate if consensus is there is not enough justification to except from the MOS:
- Move this page to 2d Troop Carrier Squadron (Medium)
- Make 2d Troop Carrier Squadron a redirect to 2d Airlift Squadron
- Edit the hatnotes.
