prose
[edit]- lead
- Designed by the firm of Hoppin & Koen is "of" necessary?
- building in 1988 by the firm of Ehrenkranz Group & Eckstut, becoming ditto
- is a New York City designated landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. i think "and is" is redundant
- Removed. Epicgenius (talk) 15:06, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- the building was left abandoned for a decade remove "left"
- site
- Prior to the development of the present "prior to" ==> "before"
- facade
- it is known as the Police Building Apartments. i don't think this should be bolded
- Removed. Epicgenius (talk) 15:06, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Due to the uneven dimensions of the site. the southern wing is wider than the northern wing; however, the facades to the west and east are symmetrical. i believe the first full stop should be a comma
- set within oeils-de-boeuf, or small rounded windows. ==> "set within oeils-de-boeuf (small rounded windows)." The former may make people think they are two different things.
- history
- Eugene E. McLean, the chief engineer of the New York City Department of Finance. proposed closing five i believe the final full stop should be a comma
- in rent, plus payments in lieu of taxes. ==> "in rent, plus payments instead of taxes."
- The technical term for this is actually payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT). The NYC government sometimes uses PILOTs to entice developers to renovate or build structures. Epicgenius (talk) 15:06, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Local residents complained about ==> "Residents complained about"
- I think this could be confused with "the building's residents", so I'm wary about making this changed. Epicgenius (talk) 15:06, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- basement space until 2000, when it agreed remove the comma
As always great article @Epicgenius:. Images/sources check out, and i'll be happy to pass once the above concerns have been addressed. 750h+ 15:01, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
