New "generic opponent" poll?
[edit]Here's a poll of Eric Adams vs. "someone else".
I don't know how to add this poll because I don't edit wiki often.

Independent running

Not really sure how to add this, as he's announced his candidacy and seems to be relevant but has not seemingly chosen what party to run with or if he'll be an independent. I think he should be included in the article, but I am unsure how to proceed in doing so. Bigolracer (talk) 16:45, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
New overarching poll
[edit]This poll by Siena College/New York Times recently came out with a few results that could be added. If someone could format that, I believe it would benefit this page. Bigolracer (talk) 17:17, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
Moving Sliwa to "publicly expressed interest" instead of "declared"
[edit]The source listing Curtis Sliwa as declared is over a year old. He has not registered with the NYC Campaign Finance Board or formally announced his candidacy. Unless a source is found solidifying he is running, could he be moved to publicly expressed interest? Bigolracer (talk) 21:13, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed. In the source, he doesn't actually say he's running, just that he plans to. His Instagram and Twitter bios identify him as a "former" mayoral candidate. I'm moving him out of Declared. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 00:08, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Jamaal Bowman as "Declined"
[edit]The source for Jamaal Bowman declining to run is the New York Daily News, but the link does not work. Furthermore, it is from 2023, at which time he expected to be re-elected to the House of Representatives. Now that he will leave Congress on January 3, 2025, he could run. I am not saying he will run, but I think his primary loss for Congress this year changed his situation so that taking him out or calling him a possible candidate would be more accurate than calling him declined based on 2023. Disputed section
[edit]Originally in the lead, after describing Eric Adams, there was this sentence: "He was indicted on federal corruption charges in September 2024, and has faced calls to resign from office."
That sentence has now been removed, with the edit summary citing the statement as being biased and not helpful to the article.
I disagree with this, but I want to lay this out here to get the opinions of others and establish a consensus one way or the other. Bigolracer (talk) 16:20, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
