"Escalation"?

Russia has illegally launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 to fulfil the demand of a dictator about recreating the Russian Empire, so saying "escalation" downplays the severity of this act. 2024 World Friendship Games → World Friendship Games – It is unclear if the World Friendship Games will take place in 2024, after the organisers announced their postponement in early-July, according to https://www.reuters.com/sports/russias-world-friendship-games-postponed-2025-report-says-2024-07-03.
