Second round hosts

[edit]

@Kenta Minazu, Ngô Đình Quang, Conam-san, and Masgerry: You have all made edits to this article that somewhat relate to the indication of which nations have agreed to be second round group hosts and the distribution of nations into the draw pots. However, there has been no source provided for any of this information, and I cannot find anything on AFC's website, nor anywhere else for that matter, to corroborate these changes. If there is a source, please either provide it in an edit summary, an inline citation, or post it here and I will add the inline citation. Even if the information is correct, proper sourcing and citations are required. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 14:17, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Midfielderisgd: You also made changes to this without citing a source. Please either reply in this thread with a source, or add it yourself. I cannot find where AFC or any other relicable source are publishing this information, so I will have to revert all this work as original research if it cannot be corroborated. I really don't want to do that, so please follow all sourcing requirements. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 01:45, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Group B Qatar matches

[edit]

@Lunar Spectrum96: Please do not add the Qatar matches back to the Group B section. Those matches are friendlies and are not a part of qualification. Results of those matches can be recorded on the team articles, however. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 19:33, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jkudlick the AFC list these matches of QATAR as part of the qualification, although they are deemed friendlies and we re not accounting them when calculating the group ranking.
the matches are part of the groups and have to be listed for more reference go to the AFC website to look for yourself Lunar Spectrum96 (talk) 22:23, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Lunar Spectrum96: Previous consensus in similar situations has been not to include matches that have no impact on standings or group results. Wider consensus to change that would be required. WT:FOOTY would be a good place to seek that consensus as it has a much broader audience than this article does. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 04:27, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Take a careful look before making Iran as the team qualified. These reports have shown that Iran has received even more yellow cards and all happened in the same qualifiers. At least for now. HiddenFace101 (talk) 19:00, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
