Day 3 of 6

[edit]

The BBC coverage of this describes today as day 3 of 6 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/cricket/65032625

Is this an error? Is this a 5 day test match, or 6 days? Or is it 5 days with some kind of reserve day?

I could not find anything about this on the page.

Thanks Jopal22 (talk) 13:52, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There was a reserve day incase there was rain. Sputink (talk) 20:23, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This information should be included in the article, otherwise it's unclear to a reader. I have added it. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:12, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TV directory

[edit]

How is the broadcasting section not a violation of WP:NOTDIRECTORY? It's literally a list of every country that held TV rights, which is the exact definition of a TV directory. Doesn't add any encyclopedic value to the article in my opinion. Its existence in other articles is not a valid reason for inclusion as per WP:OSE, unless someone can demonstrate why it is encyclopedic. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:57, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While I have no view on this topic, did you check 2021_ICC_World_Test_Championship_final? This orange tag is preventing the article from going to the mainpage on WP:ITN -- so, handle this in a time appropriate manner. Ktin (talk) 04:45, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, its existence in other articles isn't a valid reason to have it here. I don't believe there was ever a discussion at WT:CRIC to add broadcasters, but people just started adding these TV directory violations. This is about me trying to improve the article, please stop trying to drag me into an ITN discussion given that I'm topic banned from that area. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:52, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And it's only sourced to 2 primary sources from the ICC. If it were important information, the entire list would be covered my multiple, independent, reliable sources (that aren't just mirrors of these articles) too. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:54, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Duke or Kookaburra ball

[edit]

Would be of interest to state which ball was used in the match. 101.188.52.54 (talk) 21:44, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's in England, so will have been Duke's. But who cares- unless it made a significant impact to the Test match, we don't need to include it. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:22, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
