[edit]- Whiteguru, this article does not fail WP:CRYSTAL or WP:TOOSOON in my opinion. Read this line from WP:CRYSTAL:
This event is both notable and certain to take place, so what's the issue? And here, from WP:TOOSOON:Individual scheduled or expected future events should be included only if the event is notable and almost certain to take place...Examples of appropriate topics include the 2024 U.S. presidential election and 2028 Summer Olympics.
I have five independent secondary reliable sources listed already, and there will likely be more in the coming months. The sources already exist so why is it too early? If you look through pages in Template: 2022 United States elections, there are plenty of pages that were originally started in 2020 or earlier. Hell, check out 2024 United States presidential election or 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial election. Consensus seems to be that as long as it's the *next* election for the seat, it's fine. If any specific potential candidates fail WP:CRYSTAL then just remove them. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 23:12, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Generally speaking, the various notability criteria that guide editors in creating articles require that the topic being considered be itself verifiable in independent secondary reliable sources...If sources do not exist, it is generally too soon for an article on that topic to be considered.
