Women candidates

So let's understand this. The election where Congress makes the promotion of Female candidates and election issue, is the wiki entry where all of a sudden now we note male and female candidate breakdown per party. Inherent Bias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.215.153.9 (talk) 02:29, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Unreliable sources

How does it happens that surveys and opinion polls from unreliable sources become reliable in Punjab and other poll bound states? Bharatiya Sanatani (talk) 23:09, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Read the threads above to find out. Venkat TL (talk) 09:05, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

@Venkat TL You have nowhere explained why the opinion polls by agencies you refer as Godi Media become unreliable in UP , but reliable in other states like Punjab? Bharatiya Sanatani (talk) 19:13, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

AAP

AAP won 64 seats in Panchayat elections. It is a major party contesting in all the seats. The major party status is clear in the coverage of AAP in Media in UP. For example See

Media coverage? It is being counted in others, and has even less than 1% vote share in UP. Don't worry AAP will lose deposits on 403 seats.

Bharatiya Sanatani (talk) 01:09, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
Why would I be worried? Venkat TL (talk) 09:06, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Mubarakpur SP candidate

The candidate from Mubarakpur is not the SP supremo as mentioned in the wikipedia 2409:4042:E1A:46A7:0:0:4B8B:CB02 (talk) 01:55, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Local body elections

Bharatiya Sanatani has twice added elections of Block Pramukh and Zilla Adhyaksh into the article. These elections are not open to the general public and I see no reason to add every such election to this Assembly election article. Panchayat elections are relevant as general public vote there. Please discuss your points to make consensus before adding it into the article. Venkat TL (talk) 13:36, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

@Venkat TL Now I will not add only Panchayat polls but also the bypolls between 2017-22.

[1]I think you don't know how the Panchayat Elections are held . The Panchayat Elections are not fought on the symbol of a party . Which means all candidates fight as independents and are don't belong to the party which supported them in Panchayat polls. for example If one say that BJP won 30 seats in Panchayat elections this means that BJP has supported these 30 candidates and these candidates have also choice to support other parties like SP in next elections like Block Pramukh and Zilla Adhyaksh polls. [2] By the way even Rajya Sabha elections are subject to cross voting and are also not open to public will you remove them? Even many selections are through a secret ballot what will you say.

Bharatiya Sanatani (talk) 13:58, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
@Bharatiya Sanatani You cannot add anything without WP:CONSENSUS. If you continue WP:EDITWAR you will be reported. You have not explained why Pramukh and Adhyaksh election need to be added. Rajya Sabha elections are relevant. Please do not resort to whataboutism. Venkat TL (talk) 14:10, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Articles from Unreliable sources removed.

All articles , opinion polls of Godi Media or unreliable sources removed. Bharatiya Sanatani (talk) 19:31, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Agree. I have now put reliable non Godi media sources. Venkat TL (talk) 20:25, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Graphs in opinion poll section

These graphs are not published by any news site. Some Wikipedia editor added it without first generating consensus. This graph is misleading and not supported by either secondary or primary sources. They are WP:SYNTH and not allowed by Wikipedia rules. I have removed these unsourced graphs. Venkat TL (talk) 14:08, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

@Venkat TL Graphs are just reflecting tabular data. It is not wrong. You should see that before deleting or commenting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skmiiita (talkcontribs) 09:19, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
Without a reliable source backing the graph, there is no chance of it getting included. Venkat TL (talk) 09:31, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Criteria for inclusion in the 'Parties and Alliances' section

Hundreds of parties field candidates in th UP Assembly elections. I propose that only those parties are included in the list who have some legislaive presence. Agreed? 2405:201:300A:7022:8498:C6F6:B902:E829 (talk) 10:30, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Major parties having their own Wikipedia article should be added if there are reliable source covering their alliance. --Venkat TL (talk) 11:15, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Addition of polls of poll in exit poll

Please add polls of poll at the end AK0183 (talk) 17:03, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

@AK0183 please provide the line you want to add along with a reliable source. Venkat TL (talk) 17:09, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

No source is required i want that please add average of all exit poll as a combined average of all the polls AK0183 (talk) 17:57, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

@AK0183, unfortunately Wikipedia rule of WP:V mandates that no information can be added without a reliable source. If you find a reference feel free to post on the talk page. It will be added. Venkat TL (talk) 18:05, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Election Issue Survey

Results section before the result is out

@Naren aviation @Dhruv edits, I have removed the Results section: The results have not been declared yet. This article is not a draft. The Results section can be developed in WP:DRAFT or userspace of editors. Not here. Please do no add it before 10 March. Dont presume which party will win or which wont. Venkat TL (talk) 13:57, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

@Venkat TL Hey bud, I am gonna add them back mainly cause the election results are gonna be out in just a few days and usually for many elections (2019 ap or 2020 or 2021) the result tables are added within the week of the result plus we are not presuming which party is winning or which party is losing we are just adding it to avoid chaos on the day and get the article ready for the big day. Naren aviation
Naren aviation, Please WP:INDENT and sign your post. This article is not a draft. Unsourced and empty columns should not be added into an article on the WP:Mainspace. I have started a discussion thread. You are welcome to put your case and make consensus. Do not WP:EDITWAR. Please show me the rule that says "result tables are added within the week of the result". We have a strict rule about WP:V that nothing should be added unless it is supported by a reliable source. No results have been declared. If you continue to add unsourced edits into the article, I will have to report you for WP:disruptive editing. If you want to avoid the chaos of the day do it in a WP:DRAFT or WP:USERSPACE. You cannot choose which party will be named in the results section. By selecting some parties and leaving out others you are presuming the results . See WP:CRYSTAL. You cannot forecast the results until they are declared. If you dont like the chaos of the day, feel free to stay out, there are other editors who will update the results when they come. Don't do it now. If you still disagree with me, you have to follow WP:DISPUTE RESOLUTION. Venkat TL (talk) 15:21, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
Rohitsetthachok Dont add the result section before 10 March. Unsourced edits are not allowed on this page. --Venkat TL (talk) 07:38, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
@Mahesh Chhanga 78 You cannot add the section, until the results are declared by a reliable source. It is too early to start adding empty sections. Please have patience. Venkat TL (talk) 13:50, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Opinion polls table need to be split

Not sure who has merged them. Merging votes % and seats into same table makes it hard to read. Please split it into 2 separate tables. --Venkat TL (talk) 09:02, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

The tables have been split as proposed. Venkat TL (talk) 14:24, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
