- "injury time" - explain or link to what this means
- "highest attendance at any semi-final play-off" - isn't it normally "play-off semi-final"?
- Link Josh McEachran
- "Sunderland's last play-off final" - maybe "most recent" or something as it isn't the last any more
- "Sunderland last played in the Championship" - ditto... maybe "had last played..."?
- "in 2020, where they defeated" - more like "when they defeated"
- "Stewart was Sunderland's top scorer with 24 goals" - we haven't mentioned him yet, but there is also an Anthony Stewart mentioned later in the article. Perhaps say Ross for clarity?
- "leading marksman" - this sounds slightly slangy
- "Lee Mason was the video assistant referee (VAR) as in May 2022, the EFL had announced that for the first time, the VAR system would be used at all play-off finals" - I would reverse the order of this sentence, I found it slightly hard to scan... first say that the system had been introduced, then say who did it.
- "Wycombe Wanderers were initially given 19,205 tickets and applied for an extra allocation" - were they granted one? And to how much? Given that we mentioned the same info for Sunderland
- It's not confirmed anyway I can see, but WWFC stated themselves that more than 22,000 tickets had been sold, so that implies yes. I've added a bit of extra detail. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- "at Wembley Stadium, London" - not the first mention so unlink, and maybe say earlier that it's in London.
- "side netting" - this might not be an obvious term for people unfamiliar with the game
- Linked to glossary. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- "Five minutes later Ross Stewart's shot" - the style used in this article suggests a comma after "later" would be apt
- "after it appeared that Roberts had been fouled by Jacobson" - [according to whom?]
- "instead Roberts was called for offside" - according to the rules (IIRC) the offside would nullify the penalty claim anyway, wouldn't it? The previous sentence gives the impression that maybe Sunderland were hard done-by.
- No, it states objectively that Sunderland's appeals were denied, not that they were hard done by! The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- "The last chance of the half fell to Anthony Stewart but he headed Jacobsen's free kick wide of the Wycombe Wanderers goal" - I've just realised that Stewart and Jacobsen are Wycombe players (perhaps making the confusion mentioned above less obvious). But here you say they are shooting towards their own goal, which doesn't make much sense. Presumably "wide of the Sunderland goal". And also spell out that Anthony Stewart is a Wycombe player.
- Well, one would suffice I think, thus fixed. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- "Sunderland made their first personnel change" - I don't object to saying "personnel" once in the paragraph, but given that it's a slightly quirky term, maybe reword on the second occurrence.
- Well, was trying to avoid generic "change" (because people have complained that could be applied to tactics) and trying to avoid endless repetition of substitute or substitution. But changed. If you prefer it that way! The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- "Wycombe Wanderer's Jordan Obita" - apostrophe should be after the s
- "before Stewart moved to his right and scoring with a low shot" - clarify which of the two Stewarts since you do elsewhere
- Per above, does the "Stewart" mentioned as Sunderland's goalscorer need to be clarified as Ross? Perhaps not, given that Anthony plays for Wycombe, but putting it out there anyway.
- "congratulations Sunderland" - start new sentence with a capital letter
- Someone else did that, I can tell because there wasn't a double space before... fixed now! The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
@The Rambling Man: That's all for now, thanks. Will have a quick look over sourcing etc. once these are addressed. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 11:22, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- Amakuru thanks, all addressed and/or responded to above. Sorry again for the unacceptable delay. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 13:36, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- Passed - I'm happy with the above fixes. Good work, thanks. — Amakuru (talk) 16:24, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
