Two questions - firstly is it better to keep the <ref name="BBC News"/> reference in the first line of the candidates section, or duplicate it for each candidate? It should be one or the other, but not a mixture of both. Secondly should we use the candidates' own party links as references or not? IMO we shouldn't, as they are obviously POV and we have an alternative RS, but I think this needs to be formally agreed before we keep edit warring. Voice of Clam 14:17, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think we only need the BBC citation in the first line, but I have no strong feelings on the matter.
In other by-election articles, we have usually not used the candidates' own party links as references. So let's not here. (For general election articles, we have sometimes given links to party manifestoes in the External Links section. I can see some argument for doing something similar here.)
