Slot for I-League relegated side.

[edit]

All the slots available for I-League 2nd division are reserved for State Leagues. No such slot is available for 2021–22 I-League relegated side as they shouldn't have ideally. Imagine if there was a slot for 2021–22 Relegated side (Kenkre) they would now play I-League 2nd division this season and get back promoted to I-League 2022–23? Usually the relegated sides have to spend a season in the second division, then if they are promoted, they get back to 2023–24 season and not the immediate 2022–23 season. However, AIFF may change the format soon, until then it is better to stick with the existing format than to give readers a false idea. Footy2000 (talk) 06:15, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kenkre is the Relegated side from 2021-22 I league and they will play in 2022-23 2nd division to get back to the I league 2022-23 because I league and 2nd division don't happen at the same time. So they will play the 2nd division if they wish to play as last club relegated Shillong Lajong didn't play the 2nd division by their choice not because they were not eligible. Kenkre is eligible to play the 2nd division along with the state league nominate teams. But if they fail to qualify this season they will be back in the state league as the relegated team from the upcoming season of I league will play in place of them.

There is no source nor confirmation from AIFF which states this. Also, there is no point in relegation if the team is returning in the next season as promoted side. Back in 2014–15 season of I-League, Dempo was relegated to the 2015–16 I-League 2nd Division and gained their promotion to the 2016–17 I-League and not the 2015–16 I-League. This was when I-League and I-League 2nd division had a proper transitional format. The current format is messed up to say the least and it is better to remain sticked with the existing norm before confirming anything when AIFF is yet to update the details on the format. format is extended so kenkre will be able to join il2, winner gets i league spot in 2 seasons from now. add on list when confirmed.

After Dempo every club which relegated didn't participate in the 2nd division so we don't know if they could have got promotion in 1st year Bharat0078 (talk) 14:17, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

https://khelnow.com/football/i-league-2021-22-phase-two-relegation-stage-details-fixtures-schedule-teams Here it says The team which finish last in the relegation stage will go to 2nd division next season. Which means kankre are relegated to 2nd division for this season 2022-23 Bharat0078 (talk) 14:21, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

State league champions season 2021-22

[edit]

I have seen the new charts with the 12 possible selected State league Champions season of 2021-22. How do you explain these 12 teams? Rajasthan, Chennai, Tripura, Punjab, Calcutta, Guwahati, Mizoram and Odisha also conducted a league. Earlier AIFF said only leagues who are completed in May 2022. I am not sure if this is current anymore. Some were and some not. Can someone explain? Also with only state leagues champions there would be no representative of J&K, Punjab and Calcutta. Please give the reason about the edits you have done on football box collapsable templates of the matches "Jagat Singh Palahi vs Techtro Swades United", "Downtown Heroes vs Delhi FC" and "The Diamond Rock vs United SC" which were played on 29 April 2023. @Dollarsign14

There are more than one player in the team with same surname you edited in those templates. Ritwik Mahatat@lk 13:57, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
