Good afternoon Innisfree987. The edit I reverted added Serio de la Peña as a candidate under the Democratic primary. Colonel de la Peña is already listed as running in the Republican convention, which is the correct information as indicated by the cited source. Additionally, I stated "grief" which may or may not be an accurate description as well as the "experience" listed for Colonel de la Peña painted him in a positive light, not a neutral one. Additional campaign logos

The website for Princess Blanding has a unique campaign logo which should be included for consistency. Merle Rutledge also has a campaign logo, though it's just some text and then the symbol of the Republican Party, so I'm not sure whether or not that should be included. I wouldn't include Rutledge's logo for the sake of not knowing if he has the consent of the Republican Party to use their logo within his campaign logo. However, he does have an image on his website of himself and on the side a logo which states, "Merle Rutledge 2021 Virginia Governor's Republican Candidate". I would think that's OK; if I'm looking at the same thing as you, it's in one of the rotating images at the top of the page. Note that Blanding or someone on her staff has now added her campaign logo to the page since this discussion began. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 06:18, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Yes that is the image I'm referring to. The first one you see when entering his website. Not the second rotating image with the firearm. Also, Peter Doran has a logo published on his website as well. Table and photos for primary candidates

The precedent from pages about previous VA gov races, as well as most races in the US other than Presidential, is to use a simple list of names with a short description (usually previous positions). I suggest the tables with photos be removed and replaced with a simple list for consistency. --eduardog3000 (talk) 16:12, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Honestly, I agree. It absolutely helps as a visual aid, drawing attention to what would otherwise be a wall of text (see MOS:PERTINENCE). I think if you're worried about consistency, we should in fact go the other way: including more images in other articles on elections. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 05:59, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

The table is unnecessary, and yes, BottleofChocolateMilk, it looks abysmal to have them take up so much space with placeholder images. A gallery may be better and there's no need to be inconsistent with everything else. Reywas92^Talk 02:09, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

I am genuinely concerned that removing the placeholder images would present an NPOV issue, as by causing candidates without images to be physically reduced in size, it may imply them to have reduced importance. For consistency's sake

How are we going to reference the constituencies of state legislators? By hometown, as it is here, or by district, as it is in the article for the lieutenant governor's race? Additionally, should former state legislators (who are not currently holding another public office, are retired, etc.) be listed under "state delegates" / "state senators" or under "individuals"? @ Nosebagbear and Zoozaz1, I see on the AFC reviewers list that you assess politics-related articles. This draft has been around for months, but it keeps getting vandalized (with promotionalism and/or inflammatory claims) by anonymous IP accounts, and that has prevented it from being accepted at AFC. I recently reverted the most recent IP attack (which I hadn't noticed for 10 days). Youngkin is notable as the former co-CEO of the world's largest private equity firm, and some of his significant coverage over the past 9 years is listed here: Draft talk:Glenn Youngkin#Significant coverage. I believe it would be valuable to the Wikipedia reader to have this posted live prior to the Virginia Republican convention (where nominees are chosen), which is on May 8. What do you think? Notability

FWIW, Steve Descano and Stacey Kincaid are DA and Sheriff for a jurisdiction larger than eight US states, located in a major media market with abundant press coverage. Nobody’s written their articles but their notability is a foregone conclusion, which is why they’ve been included to date: WP:ENDORSE only requires wiki-notability, not the article exist. The graph

The graph included in this article is disjointed - it appears to be a graph of aggregate polling data, but users continue to plainly insert new data into it, causing the lines to swing drastically and making actual data points redundant. Should the graph continue to be aggregate or should it be changed to merely reflecting every poll? The latter sounds the easiest, albeit there are aggregate lines we could use from RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight. Any thoughts? S51438 (talk) 18:09, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Endorsements Correction to Headings

Under Terry McAuliffe the heading for endorsements start as "Federal Officials" however under Glenn Youngkin it starts as "Executive Branch Officials" They should be labeled the same or split up under Terry. Map Style

I noticed that the map style for the 2021 gov elections are diffrent then in previous election maps, what's the reason for this change? If anything, keeping the older style of maps allows for easier comparisons to previous races. Gordfather69 (talk) 03:32, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Graph

As noted by (talk) 18:09, 25 October 2021 (UTC) the graphs on this page need help. My attention was drawn to the graph in Polling for the General election. The line shows an abrupt decline in popularity for Youngkin around 1 September but the data don't show a drop. There are several other wiggles that appear unrelated to the underlying data. Inclusion of second decimal in results by county and city

I believe it would be much less confusing for editors and more informative for readers if we include the second decimal in the results by county and city section of the article (ex. 85.16% instead of 85.2%). Additionally, the percentages in the results by county and city section do not correspond with the Virginia Department of Elections percentages which the editor used for reference. I would like to get everyone else's thought on this and use the more precise percentages used by the Virginia Department of Elections. MogasTheThird (talk) 22:59, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Tulsi Gabbard 'endorsement'

It seems to me, from the source given, that Gabbard didn't really 'endorse' Youngkin in the manner in which 'endorse' is usually meant. It seems that after the race was called, she said something positive about McAuliffe losing (not necessarily about Youngkin winning), something which was very specific.

It seems to me that 'endorse' would generally mean that the person let it be publicly known before the election that he or she wanted the endorsee to win the election in question (not that he or she would see some upside in the other candidate losing). But, I'm not going to make the change myself because perhaps technically that is an endorsement. Toadmore (talk) 20:39, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
