Watch Alert: 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions 1st Prize
[edit]For any reqular editors of the 2021-22 PGA Tour Schedule page ...
It is true that various news articles are announcing a boost of the overall prize money for the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions (aka T of C) as $ 8,000,000 with a 1st prize of $ 1,440,000, which is 18% of the total announced purse.
If the announced 1st prize proves to be correct, this would then be a change from the pattern of previous years, when the T of C 1st prize was 20% of the total purse. If this were true for 2022, then the 1st prize would be $ 1,600,000 instead of $ 1,440,000.
I wonder -- and bear in mind that I have no supporting evidence for this supposition -- if the PGA Tour is making a change in the individual place prize distribution for the 2022 T of C, perhaps something close to the distribution formula for the Tour Championship during the years (1987-2018) when it had a regular purse.
We shall see. In any event, I thought it best to give everyone a heads-up alert here.

Sortable by OWGR points?
[edit]Apologies if this is in the wrong format for the talk page. My suggestion is to make the "OWGR points" column sortable, so you can quickly sort by most/least OWGR poinrts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yankeesmarc923 (talk • contribs) 02:55, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
On that thought, speaking of OWGR, with the point tally changes, maybe a reference to OWGR that says "On xxx date, OWGR announced a change to how OWGR points are calculated (And insert the changes) to the playoff events, to explain why the point tally suddenly changes from round numbers to say, 76.9. Legend for FedEx Cup Standings table
[edit]I've added a legend to the table.
(1)
Win | Top 10 | Made cut | Cut | Withdrew or disqualified | • | Did not play |
Other options are:
(2)
• Did not play
or
(3)
Legend |
Win |
Top 10 |
Made cut |
Cut |
Withdrew or disqualified |
• Did not play |
Above or below table? Thoughts? Tewapack (talk) 18:57, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- I would go with the above table. It's less clunky than the below one. It's also similar to the legend we have in "results in major championships", placed below the results table would be the best in my opinion. Jimmymci234 (talk) 19:14, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- To clarify, the one I've added is (1), below. You're suggesting (2), below - correct? (1) is similar to the legends below scorecards in majors articles, for example 2022 Masters Tournament#Scorecard, (2) is similar to, as you say, legends below "results in major championships" tables, for example Scottie Scheffler#Results timeline, (3) is similar to the legend above "PGA Tour wins" tables, for example Scottie Scheffler#PGA Tour wins (4). Tewapack (talk) 20:05, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- Yes (2) I think would be most suited. Jimmymci234 (talk) 20:15, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
