[edit]I just completely revamped this article.
The article included infoboxes that purport to contain election results. The problem is that the one cited source (the state board of elections website) did not in any way support the data in the infoboxes because the source included only unofficial election night results; given the astronomical number of absentee ballots cast, data on the election night results offers a drastically incomplete and inaccurate picture of the overall results of these elections. Accordingly, I have removed all data from the infoboxes on how many seats were won or lost. Anyone wishing to add such data should include a reliable source. While some media sources that I cited reported data on how many seats were won by each party, the sources are not in harmony with one another. Bottom line: The election results are scheduled to be certified on December 7. Until then, we should resist the impulse to jump the gun and should simply wait to post the election results here.
I did not delete data on how many voters voted on each party's respective line during the Senate elections; however, I do not see how that data can possibly be accurate or up-to-date. I will wait to see if someone provides a reliable source, although I can't imagine that there is one at this point in time. 24.29.56.240 (talk) 21:19, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Certified election results are now available (see https://www.elections.ny.gov/2020ElectionResults.html). I have updated the article accordingly. 24.29.56.240 (talk) 07:33, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
