Changing up Salary cap exemptions and captains table
[edit]With the changes that new CBA has introduced, should we add columns that list homegrown, guest (if there are any during that season), loyalty (and what percentage of their salary is exempt) and maybe scholarship players? Discuss. HeyGuysItsMe (talk) 03:52, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
- @HeyGuysItsMe: Could you link a source please? :) --SuperJew (talk) 07:26, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- @SuperJew: Source, Source Pulled from basically the A-League's website. I can't find a source that goes into detail about the progressive scale when it comes to a loyalty player's contract. I think it would be good to add considering they are exemptions at the end of the day and an important part of the operation of the league during any given season and shows people how club's are utilising these exemptions to squeeze every player inside the cap. --HeyGuysItsMe (talk) 09:38, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- @HeyGuysItsMe: Thanks. Next question I have is if it's feasible to have columns for loyalty players / homegrown players? I'm afraid there won't be enough reliable sourcing about it. As it is, finding all the sourcing for the marquees was quite a work haha (and I'm still not 100% sure on all of them - with some players being touted as marquees in some places but touted as "under cap" in others). --SuperJew (talk) 11:08, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- Anyways I think first step is to have the A-League page salary section fully updated and sourced first. (sorry I don't really have time to do that rn) --SuperJew (talk) 11:31, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah fair call, makes sense I guess. A-League salary cap section needs an overhaul and the sourcing issue is prevalent so it would make it very hard to add the columns. I guess in time we will see. --HeyGuysItsMe (talk) 13:08, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- @SuperJew: Thanks for asking for some input on the topic. I honestly don't think we will be able to get the information to change the columns to include "loyalty players" with any figures (of certainty). Clubs are under no obligation to A. use the exemptions and more importantly B. make it public knowledge. Certainly, if someone can find specific sources for all eleven clubs, then by all means, we should look at. I just don't see it happening. As you stated earlier, it is hard enough finding sources that corroborate marquee status. —Eccy89 (talk) 11:59, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Crowd numbers with the resumption in season
[edit]Just looking at the way the article reports crowd figures. With many of the remaining games likely to be behind closed doors, I think it would be fair to freeze the crowd numbers at the point prior to games being played behind closed doors. So, the last few games prior to the suspension, and all relevant remaining games in the season. JoltColaOfEvil (talk) 23:40, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Thomas James citizenship
[edit]What's the source for James having Australian citizenship? Hack (talk) 04:45, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- He moved to Australia in 2015. --SuperJew (talk) 09:39, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- That doesn't say he has Australian citizenship. He was apparently a visa player last year in the NPL. Hack (talk) 12:49, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- That source says he "is on the cusp of gaining his Australian residency". I would assume he got it by now (a year later). Will try to check on Twitter. --SuperJew (talk) 13:38, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- He needs citizenship, not just residency, to count as a local. Hack (talk) 16:44, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- Usually one comes shortly after the other (not that I'm saying either of my comments should base a decision, but rather thinking logically). --SuperJew (talk) 20:13, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Stated attendane in Grand Final
[edit]Attendance stated as 0 (played behind closed doors) however this was not the case. Can this be amended? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:D18D:DE01:292E:82DE:4FBC:2DAE (talk) 12:35, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
