Important dates in 2018
[edit]Should a listing of key 2018 NFL offseason dates be included in the article, as listed in this link?
https://operations.nfl.com/football-ops/league-governance/2018-important-nfl-dates/
This would provide a thorough listing of all dates of the 2018 league year. (Technically, according to the link, the league year starts March 14, but prior dates could be listed too.)
If these dates belong in this article, I am unsure what format the dates could/should take on. Xplay26 (talk) 05:21, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
Map of NFL teams
[edit]I notice there was a dispute earlier about the usage of the map of teams copied from National Football League. Since there's already been 3 attempts to add it into this article, all 3 of which have been reverted, I have decided to WP:BEBOLD and start the discussion. As I am neutral in regards to its usage, but also am opposed to its usage in the lead, I will let the discussion happen. 2601:589:8000:2ED0:910A:4FEA:764A:336B (talk) 22:45, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- As Non-American, I do not have the locations of the teams memorized, so seeing them on a map is useful. If the information changes from season to season, it makes sense to have it in every season article. --Palnatoke (talk) 08:28, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- Like most other professional sports leagues in North America, the NFL does not have any system of promotion and relegation, where various teams are transferred back and forth between other leagues and levels every year. The NFL uses a closed model based on licensing or franchising, where the same teams are generally the same from year to year (with occasional admission of expansion teams and relocation of existing teams). Rankings update
[edit]From what I've noticed from the current rankings the strength of schedule percentages appear to be off, if someone could please update them as they relate to this accurate account https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/11/26/18111171/nfl-draft-2019-order-updated-picks-strength-of-schedule I would really appreciate it. Questions on Week 17 scenario between Indy and Tennessee
[edit]In the event that the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans ends with no winner (that is, there is a tie), would Indianapolis go to the playoffs and Tennessee miss the playoffs as a result of the fact that Indianapolis won the earlier matchup?68.58.79.52 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:49, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
- It would depend on how the AFC North had played out. The Colts would finish 2nd, but both the Ravens and Steelers would win tiebreakers over them if they were tied at 9-6-1. Thus they would only get the WC spot if one of ravens/steelers had lost, or the steelers had tied. 2A02:C7D:159:6A00:49B:F919:A2CF:D9FB (talk) 11:06, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
And speaking of unlikely ties
[edit]What happens in the NFC if Seahawks lose, vikings tie and eagles win? Who gets in there? 2A02:C7D:159:6A00:49B:F919:A2CF:D9FB (talk) 11:06, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
- I think Seattle would be the #5 seed based on having the better conference record among the three teams. Then, Minnesota would be the #6 seed based on their head-to-head win over Philadelphia. --Spiffy sperry (talk) 03:54, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- Should the LA Chargers be listed somewhere? (clinching a wildcard maybe).Juve2000 (talk) 00:54, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
