Article structure

[edit]

The current structure was fine for a couple of weeks ago: there was a judicial ruling, and consequences of it. But now there is a constituent assembly as well, with its own set of rejections and consequences. "Aftermath" should be renamed into "Reactions to the judicial ruling", and the constituent assembly should have its own set of reactions. Cambalachero (talk) 15:54, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Cambalachero: I think I took care of this. It popped into my mind to do this as editing so take a look.--ZiaLater (talk) 05:55, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Update article with info about today's voting?

[edit]

I have not been following developments in Venezuelan politics closely, but a CNN headline stating that a candidate in today's election had been shot dead caught my attention. I don't feel confident enough in this subject to add this information to the article (or another one if more appropriate, Timeline of the 2017 Venezuelan protests?), but someone probably should... Funcrunch (talk) 18:30, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have to disagree. Unfortunately Venezuela traditionally has one of the highest Homicide rates in the world. See List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate. In List_of_cities_by_murder_rate the venezuelan capital Caracas is at #1 the top. 4,308 People where killed in the capital Caracas alone in 2016. In comparison even the reported 100+ victims during the protests lose significance, including the death of an candidate.
Unfortunately most of the "press" tends to missrepresent historic events according to cultural and political alignment. We better dont start discussing about press in general here but reporting about every killed Person in Venezuela was obviously not common until very recently. Therefor i dont think CNN is an objective neutral source for this article. --Kharon (talk) 03:49, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Kharon: Independent of the murder, shouldn't some update be made covering the outcome of this vote? Funcrunch (talk) 03:59, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes ofcourse. --Kharon (talk) 04:04, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
