Modibo Nama Traoré
[edit]It's slighly ambiguous from the sources whether Modibo Nama Traoré is the commander of the Malian Armed Forces, as stated by the Guardian article [1] which describes him as "The head of Mali’s military, Modibo Nama Traore", or just one particular commander who happened to be on the scene. Given the fluid nature of Mali's armed forces, I'm finding it quite difficult to find out. Can anyone help with this? -- The Anome (talk) 15:40, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Why is the article being moved?
[edit]Why is this being moved to November 2015 Bamako hotel attack instead of 2015 Bamako hotel attack? For the Paris attacks, it had the month in it only because there was a January attack on Charlie Hebdo, and the month was added to distinguish between the two. Otherwise, our WP:MOS says to go with the simplest name and that's just the year. -- Fuzheado | Talk 16:24, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

- Yes, the month was probably added in view of the article title of the recent Paris attacks.--Peaceworld 17:56, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- There is the MARCH attack but both have the added caveat.Lihaas (talk) 05:47, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Bambara version?
[edit]Can somebody make a Bambara version of this article? WhisperToMe (talk) 21:07, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
"Hostages"
[edit]Despite media and government use of the term "hostages," it is wildly inaccurate to characterize this as a hostage event. Hostages are persons held captive pending demands. No such demands, or any communications of any kind, were made by the attackers, nor did they capture or confine any of the victims...they murdered whomever they encountered. I recommend noting this inaccuracy in the reporting in the article.
