Venues
[edit]Is it a rule that the tournament must have 4 venues in 4 cities? If this refers only to the Moroccan bid, then it should be removed from the infobox until the new host is found. '''tAD''' (talk) 16:34, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
DR Congo participations
[edit]I note that the DR Congo has 16 participations in the CAN not 17 as was reported in the section "Qualified teams". I hope it will be corrected without resorting to wars publishing. Regards. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 13:27, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- Apparently, the 2015 edition is added to a number of participations, so we can put 17 participations for DR Congo. regards. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 17:54, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
Orphaned references in 2015 Africa Cup of Nations
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 2015 Africa Cup of Nations's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "regulations":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 22:31, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
Congo not through yet
[edit]Congo are not through yet, and shouldn't yet be highlighted in yellow in the map. --Theurgist (talk) 08:20, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
At each stadium hosting matches, there is a large poster with the name of the city, which is seen on TV during the matches. At Nuevo Estadio de Ebebiyín, the poster reads "EBIBEYIN" [sic], as seen e.g. here (0:17). Why? --Theurgist (talk) 20:53, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
Exaggeration?
[edit]- After the teams that are classified to the knockout stage there is a column where it is written “Advance to knockout stage”.
- The teams that advance to the knockout stage have a green background; the teams eliminated have a white background.
- The teams that advance to the knockout stage are tagged with “(A)”; the teams eliminated are tagged with “(E)”.
Isn’t it a bit too much? 188.37.81.120 (talk) 14:21, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- I can see your point. The reason for all those ways to show qualification is that since some readers may be colorblind we should not only use colors to show qualification like it was done before. So the column was added to explain what the colors meant for the rows the color was used. Then editor can easily believe that team has qualified so we added letters to explain if they actually have secured a green spot or not. This is how it has always been done in league tables. But now when the group stage is over the letters might be seen as not needed (and is often removed) while the color and column stay. QED237 (talk) 15:50, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- I just realised all matches has not finished. The letters will most likely be removed when all group matches has been played and group stage finished. QED237 (talk) 15:55, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
Are there really readers who are colourblind between white and green? I think the new method of displaying tables is cluttered and confusing, which is surely the exact opposite of what you're aiming for. I'm also not really sure that Equatorial Guinea need to have a letter "H" after their name in the table to indicate that they are hosts - that just further adds to the confusion. 2.218.31.177 (talk) 02:54, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for your view. On this article it is only green and white yes, but on other articles there is also blue, yellow and red so we definately need the extra column. I can also agree with the H to some degree. What is "cluttered" do you mean. It is only one extra column, other than that it is like before. QED237 (talk) 11:59, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Drawing of lots
[edit]Added a short sentence about the two teams criticising the regulations. There should be more to add i guess. Wonder if they get changed after this. -Koppapa (talk) 09:41, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
