Fixture boxes

[edit]

Guys! I edited the fixture boxes earlier today but the alphabetical order had been removed (thus removing consistency with UEFA 2012 qualifiers and 2014 UEFA FIFA qualifiers). Edit this as I dont have the time right now)--NauruDude (talk) 21:29, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I'll fix it. Roy9955 (talk) 20:56, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Match sequence

[edit]

The draw has just been done and the match sequence is fix? Is this a standart match plan? And where did you found it? --Sayka41 (talk) 19:00, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is fixed and you can find it on fifa official website.--Roy9955 (talk) 19:29, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exact link please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.240.252.237 (talk) 13:17, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The time and the stadiums I don't know about them but the matches i think they are fixed and i will try to find the exact link because I am not the one who put the format of the matches, but I am sure from the dates. Roy9955 (talk) 16:07, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please give an exact link that shows time & the stadiums. I think they aren't true.--YOSHImitsu 09:27, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. We can delete them.--YOSHImitsu 09:34, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted all of them.--YOSHImitsu 10:09, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Green line separator

[edit]

The green line separator in group tables is not looking a good thing currently. Now all the teams should be considered equally. The line can be introduced once the matches start. Arranging rank wise is still OK.

I would have no strong objection if the line were to be removed, but it does serve a useful purpose in that it reminds us the spot the teams are aiming at to advance from the group. I do not understand your reasoning that it should be removed now, but added back later. If it shouldn't be there now, then it also shouldn't be there later. If your objection is that it could be mis-interpreted as identifying teams who have already clinched a spot in the next round of play, that would not change just because they played a number of matches.

Entry of match times

[edit]

The match timming for china vs singapore is now updated on offifcial website and i have added here and please add utc time bcoz i dont know it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jitinkumar123 (talkcontribs) 08:12, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added timezone in. By the way, it is always useful to indicate the source of your information. Generally, if it from the AFC or FIFA, just put AFC or FIFA in the edit summary at the bottom of the screen when you add the info (and you can also ask for people to add further code). If it is from somewhere else (like the Chinese FA or a newspaper) then it is best to put a reference in (again, if you aren't sure how, just copy the link into the edit summary and I'm sure someone will do it for you) until it is confirmed by FIFA (or the AFC). This way people can confirm your information (and it won't get deleted) Jlsa (talk) 08:23, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Group D advancement and elimination scenarios

[edit]

The Group D advancement and elimination scenarios currently listed are erroneous. Let's look first at: "Thailand will advance to the Fourth Round if they defeat Saudi Arabia AND Oman do not defeat Australia. Saudi Arabia will be eliminated if they lose to Thailand." Consider T>S, A>O, S>O, A>T, S>A, O>T. That leaves Australia 15, Saudi Arabia 8, Thailand 7, Oman 4; in contradiction to the proffered scenarios, Saudi Arabia advances and Thailand is eliminated. Now look at: "Oman will be eliminated if they do not defeat Australia AND Thailand defeat Saudi Arabia." Consider O=A, T>S, O>S, A>T, A>S, O>T. That leaves Australia 16, Oman 8, Thailand 7, Saudi Arabia 2; in contradiction to the proffered scenarios, Oman advances. I'll be deleting those erroneous scenarios momentarily. Ah, you fixed it already, good job! Incremental Improvements (talk) 14:54, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Group A elimination scenarios

[edit]

If Iraq lose both their matches and China win both theirs, they would end up tied for second on points with 9. However, Iraq won the head-to-head matchup with two wins, so if the first tiebreaker is head-to-head results, Iraq have already advanced.

May someone who knows please include a tiebreak explanation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.179.62.128 (talk) 17:40, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Head to head is not used Jlsa (talk) 22:26, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
