The problem with team logo icons

[edit]

A user has brought up the issue of including team logos as part of the icon movement on the page. My problem with it is threefold beyond that it is included in the WP:ICON issues is that it first of all makes the page too busy, by having all the icons and colours it distracts from the pivotal information required. Second it becomes superfluous information in that the logo and team name are duplicate information indicators of themselves, whereas including the flag provides information based where that nation is from, thirdly it is best not to have too much information and to keep the page information "clean" in order to make this change we will have to go back and edit all previous editions of this tournament which is also extremely time consuming..

Using other multinational club tournament pages such as the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League, 2013 FIFA Club World Cup, or 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League already use the flag only model. While I appreciate the hard work I don't think we should deviate from this and will revert one more time and "bookmark" the edit so that it can be undone assuming there is consensus to move forward with the new format. Let's get concrete consensus first as this takes a lot of work to construct/revert. Failure to get consensus here will mean we may have to take it to a WikiProject talk page if it becomes that big of an issue. Krazytea(talk) 22:30, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. I just wasn't sure if it was allowed anywhere or not. Caperspark (talk) 08:40, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
