    Pass/Fail:
General
  • Images are good
    • Has alt text
  • References look good
  • No edit wars
  • NPOV
Lead
  • Not a required change, but would it be better to say that the teams tied for the second wild-card position in the AL?
Background
  • ultimately finishing just a single game back of the Central champion Detroit Tigers - since the rest of the sentence is written past tense, this should say they ultimately finished a single game back.
  • The Rangers were just 12–15 in September, although also won 8 of their final 10 games. - although they also won 8...
    • Also, single digit numbers should be spelled out. Eight rather than 8.
Game summary
  • Section requires inline references. I realize that it is covered by the general reference, but at the very least, I would add that inline to the end of each paragraph.
  • Would it be beneficial to add the attendance to the score line?
Aftermath
  • The Rays played the Cleveland Indians in the American League Wild Card Game, winning 4–0 and advancing to the American League Division Series (ALDS) - Again, I prefer to stick with consistent past tense. Perhaps "The Rays played the Cleveland Indians in the American League Wild Card Game and advanced to the American League Division Series (ALDS) with a 4–0 win."?
  • The sentence order is confused as it is noted Tampa clinched a playoff berth with this win, then beat Cleveland, then we come back to this tie breaker, then we jump to the ALDS. I would suggest ordering this chronologically. Start with the individual performances, then note Tampa clinched the playoff spot, beat Cleveland and ultimately lost to Boston.
