Third round
[edit]The article states that Third round "The 11 winners of the second round are joined by the five SPL sides participating in European competition" - yet as far as I can work out Scotland only has four sides in Europe this year? Mooretwin (talk) 10:35, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hello? Mooretwin (talk) 23:12, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- Even though the number of European places has reduced from five to four, the SPFL have kept the same competition structure (five third round byes). Inverness CT, as highest finisher in last season's SPL who didn't qualify for Europe, were the club who got that additional bye. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 16:50, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
"Scotland's second-most prestigious football knockout competition."
[edit]What makes this the second most prestigious competition? Public opinion? Tam1hibs (talk) 10:09, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- The Scottish Cup (the trophy, not the competition) is the oldest in the world. That gives it a little more historic resonance. It also has a European place on offer, which the League Cup doesn't. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 16:51, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
